Open Road is Chris’s first sculpture in bronze and has been produced by the craftsmen and craftswomen at Talos Fine Art Foundry in the UK, just over the road from the Thruxton race circuit, in rural Hampshire.
It is a limited run of 12 pieces.
Produced at an accurate 1/4 scale, it depicts a certain point in the history of motorcycling, at around the end of the 1920s, and celebrates something all motorcyclists have experienced from that day to this; the time when motorcycling is still new to them and every journey is an adventure. The story it tells is universal to motorcyclists of the last 120 years, from the turn of the 20th Century to the present day… and so on into the future.
The new-found freedom of the open road, with all the time in the world stretching out in front and places to see and people to meet…
